Inception of G20

The G20 was founded in 1999 after the Asian financial crisis as a forum for the Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors to discuss global economic and financial issues.

Elevation to Leader’s Level

The G20 was upgraded to the level of Heads of State/Government in the wake of the global economic and financial crisis of 2007, and, in 2009, was designated the “premier forum for international economic cooperation”.

The G20 Summit is held annually, under the leadership of a rotating Presidency. The G20 initially focused largely on broad macroeconomic issues, but it has since expanded its agenda to inter-alia include trade, sustainable development, health, agriculture, energy, environment, climate change, and anti-corruption.

The 18th G20 Summit in New Delhi will be a culmination of all the G20 processes and meetings held throughout the year among ministers, senior officials, and civil societies. A G20 Leaders’ Declaration will be adopted at the conclusion of the G20 Summit, stating Leaders’ commitment towards the priorities discussed and agreed upon during the respective ministerial and working group meetings. 

G 20 Explained in Hindi: G 20 एक समूह होता है जिसमे वित्तमंत्री तथा सेन्ट्रल बैंक के गवर्नर सम्मिलित है | G20 में 20 देशों को शामिल किया गया है, तथा G20 के अध्यक्ष प्रत्येक वर्ष अतिथि देशो को भी आमंत्रित करते है | इन देशो में स्पेन स्थायी अतिथि के रूप में प्रतिवर्ष शामिल किया जाता है | इस बैठक के दौरान प्रत्येक देश की वित्तीय बाजारों तथा विश्व की अर्थ व्यवस्था पर विचार-विमर्श करके आपसी सलाह बनाते है तथा इस समूह में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आर्थिक सहयोग जैसे आतंकवाद, मानव तस्करी,जल संकट, स्वास्थ्य, प्रवासन, जलवायु परिवर्तन, ग्लोबल वार्मिंग आदि महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर चर्चा की जाती है |
